Growing up in a home with an absent father as well as helping his mom through a long journey with mental illness, L.C. Smith's personal compassion became his passion to help others in similar life-situations. A seed thought of writing a book about fatherhood turned into going out and doing something about it by starting Real Fathers Making a Difference (R.
