Real Life - Real Suffering

James 5:7-11   “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted . . .”                                                                                                               2 Timothy 3:12   “Remember the word that I said to you:  ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’  If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”  John 15:20a   James 5:7-11   Truth Statement: The hope of what awaits us in the Second Coming of Christ sustains us in suffering that we might persevere with joy through suffering.   In the days of suffering . . .   ·         Be patient in suffering. (Isaiah 53:7-9; Galatians 6:9)   ·         Remain steadfast in suffering. (Hebrews 12:2-3)   ·         Resist grumbling in your suffering. (Isaiah 53:7-9; James 5:9; 1 Peter 3:8-17) o   Instead, glorify God in the name of Christ. (1 Peter 4:16)  ·         Remember God’s sovereignty in your suffering.  (Genesis 50:20; James 5:11)
