Real Love: The Kind that Heals, Not Hurts
from Diary of a Healing Virtuous Woman · host Virtuously Joy
Bible Verse:“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4Diary Entry:Today I reflected on what “real love” truly looks like. I used to think it was about grand gestures, words that sounded good, or someone staying by my side no matter what. But as I grow in Christ, I realize love is so much deeper — it’s not just what you say, but what you’re willing to sacrifice. Real love disciplines, protects, and forgives. It’s patient when emotions rise and kind even when misunderstood. The Lord showed me that His version of love doesn’t always feel easy, but it’s always fruitful. It corrects in truth and nurtures in grace. Real love looks like Jesus.Words of Encouragement:Love that’s rooted in God doesn’t manipulate or control — it covers, redeems, and uplifts. The world teaches us to love with conditions, but Heaven teaches us to love with compassion. Sometimes, love requires silence, prayer, or letting go. Don’t chase love that drains you; stand firm in love that grows you. The way God loves you is the standard — and everything less should fall away.Journal Prompt:How has God redefined “real love” for me this season? What actions can I take to love more like Christ?Prayer:Lord, thank You for showing me what real love looks like through Your Son. Teach me to love with purity, grace, and patience. Strip away everything that looks like love but isn’t from You. Amen.
