Real Talk (Pt. 1) - Faith Obeys

It’s time for some real talk. Living out our faith can be hard. From navigating our friends, our words, our actions, and even money… living in a way that brings God glory is hard. This is where the book of James comes in. The book of James is a book that is all about how we can have a real faith that works in our real world. Over the next five weeks, we’ll be looking at what it takes to have a real faith that really works!   Tonight we kick off our series, Real Talk, by looking at James 1. James 1 is all about how we can grow deeper in our faith. James shows us that trials can help us grow, but he also shows us that God’s Word plays an important role too. Specifically, how we respond to God’s Word. James shows us that we must accept God’s Word and not reject it. He also shows us that we must continually remember God’s Word. James also shows us that we must obey God’s Word. In all of this insight, we must understand that we must do what God’s Word says. This is the mark of every follower of Jesus who is and wants to grow deeper in their faith!
