Real Talk (Pt. 2) - Faith Acts

It’s time for some real talk. Living out our faith can be hard. From navigating our friends, our words, our actions, and even money… living in a way that brings God glory is hard. This is where the book of James comes in. The book of James is a book that is all about how we can have a real faith that works in our real world. Over the next five weeks, we’ll be looking at what it takes to have a real faith that really works!   Tonight we continue our series by looking at James 2 and how faith acts. James essentially says that followers of Christ will show their faith by how they treat the people around them and how they live out their faith. This may sound like a contradiction to Paul who says that we can’t do anything to be saved. The reality is that James and Paul don’t contradict each other but instead compliment each other. We are saved by our faith in Jesus, but when we’re saved we our life produces fruit. We want students to understand that we don’t behave to be saved, but when we’re saved we see a change in how we behave.
