Real Talk (Pt. 3) - Faith Speaks

It’s time for some real talk. Living out our faith can be hard. From navigating our friends, our words, our actions, and even money… living in a way that brings God glory is hard. This is where the book of James comes in. The book of James is a book that is all about how we can have a real faith that works in our real world. Over the next five weeks, we’ll be looking at what it takes to have a real faith that really works!   We are in week 3 of our series, which means we’ll be looking at James 3 tonight. James 3 starts off dealing with something that many of us struggle with today. That problem is the power of our words, or as James puts it… taming the tongue. Tonight we’ll look at why it’s so important to tame our tongues and the consequences that come from it. The biggest part of the problem with our words is that our words reflect what’s going on with our hearts. If our heart is focused on sin, then our words will reflect that. If our heart is focused on Jesus, then our words will reflect that too. While it seems small, our words play a role in how we live out our faith everyday!
