The most widely known Jewish holiday is wildly misunderstood and it's meaning has been corrupted.This is best depicted by one of the most ironic memes on the subject which read:'For those who may not be aware...     Hanukkah ISN'T Jewish Xmas, anything about Jesus, all about presents, or upstaging Xmas because it's 8 days.     1) Hanukkah IS celebration of maintaining one's minority identity amidst overwhelming majority      2) a celebration of triumph over religious and political tyranny,      3) a celebration of a triumph of a tiny band of freedom fighters who won over a huge and highly trained militarily,      4) a celebration of passing onto one's children their heritage, identity, and history.'On this episode of Real-Talk Torah, I explain why this meme is wrong on almost every count and attempt to accurately restore the definition of Chanukah to its former glory, BS'D.
