REALEZA - Reggae Chalice [Chile] X King Addies 38th Anniversary Mix

from King Addies Music · host King Addies

Chile based music culture magazine, Reggae Chalice celebrates sound system REALEZA, King Addies’, 38th anniversary in an official mixtape. The spanish translation for Royalty, Realeza is a 100% dubplate audio featuring the who’s who of international reggae dancehall artists, alongside a couple of Chile’s popular spanish speaking reggae dancehall artists. However, the cultural exchange begins with a spanish introduction by Big Mamma, CEO of Reggae Chalice, who curates the only Chilean magazine that is exclusively publishing reggae culture content in her country. When asked why she partnered with America’s king sound for the project, Big Mama stated “It’s important to break language barriers in reggae music worldwide. So, this collaboration with big, big sound system King Addies is a great way to do that, and also showcase the vibes of our talent.” Maialem, a pioneering female voice in the Chilean dancehall scene, has released two studio albums, several singles, frequents Jamaica, and has been directly influenced by Jamaica’s original sound. And Balaguero, one of the most recognized Lovers Rock singers, musicians and producers on the Latin American scene, has the most extensive number of releases, on riddims produced in Jamaica. Currently commemorating 38 years of international influence in music and sound system culture throughout 2021, when asked about Realeza King Addies manager Shinez stated, “Our philosophy on the relationship between artists and a sound system remains unchanged. Since 1983, we have always been pro-artist in everything we do, which is evident in our history with artists like: Supercat, Nicodemus, Tenor Saw, Jr Demus, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Sean Paul, and countless others along the way. We use our platform to promote good artists and their music, internationally. So, Realeza is our way of celebrating our legacy with the people of Chile, and sharing our platform with their artists.” Selected and mixed by Sojie Vybes, Realeza dropped on @KingAddiesMusic's SoundCloud on May 10, 2021.
