Realistic - don't kid yourself

Aim high but be real about what you can accomplish. This can be a very difficult conversation, but knowing your limitations is the key to finding success. Often people don't want to admit where they fall short. They see this are a threat to their self-worth instead of an opportunity to improve. Being realistic about your goals also ensures you aren't investing time in the wrong area. If you have prerequisites, you'll need to address those first. If you were to skip those intermediate steps, you could end up wasting time which can be a huge setback.
