TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Welcome to the Daily Bag Podcast and my name is Tommy Israel. My mother did not give me that name. I gave myself that name with the hope that I could live by, stand by it. And when it's all said and done, I live up to it.

So let's get right down to it. I grew up in a place, I grew up in a place in New York that when you had a problem with someone that the people would step to you. The people would step to you. I grew up in a place in New York where people had a bone to pick with you or just wanted to bully you.

They would step to you. Like, they would step to you. That's what it was called. They were called stepping to a person.

A person would have a good relationship for whatever reason. They would step to that person. I don't want you to understand what I'm saying. I want you to understand because I had to record this.

I had to record this podcast before it struck midnight. I didn't have a lot of time. I didn't care where I was at. I just wanted to get this.

They would call it stepping to a person. Tough area. Tough area. I know plenty of time people stepped in.

I was afraid because I knew people were coming. I knew they were coming. I knew they were coming to step to me. It's not a good feeling, bro.

I grew up at the core step. Now, people step to people for good things. Not as much, though, because it takes more coverage sometimes to step to someone and say, hey, you know I really like what you're doing. I really like what you're doing.

I appreciate you. I think what you're doing is honorable. Sometimes that takes a lot in some communities. Just like sometimes you be places and I've been places.

I've been places where I said, good morning to someone. They just got on guard. You say good morning. They're looking at you like, what are you trying to wrong?

What you want? What you asking for? What's going on? It's just not normal.

You know what I'm saying? Everybody say good morning. They say good morning. Right?

It's just that way. So the moral of what I'm saying is that I grew up in places. It's tough where they will step to you. Right?

They'll step to you. But ain't nothing. It ain't nothing. No matter how tough those spots was, it ain't nothing when someone stepped to you.

Not like when reality stepped to you. Not like when reality stepped to you. Not like when reality stepped to you. But when reality stepped to you and let you know really check your reality.

You know what I'm saying? That feeling, bro. It's no joke. Your reality stands you up straight up and get all up in your face and steps to you.

And it makes you really realize. You know what I'm saying? You have to have moments in your life where reality steps to you. Reality steps to you, bro.

This morning reality step to you. I mean, reality stood me up this morning. This is a conversation myself. And I get you to war on the permission of this and then.

This is just really a conversation myself. Reality stood me up. Look at my eye. And think about reality.

I don't talk. Reality don't talk. But life. Understand what I'm saying?

Reality works for life. Life sends reality on those missions and realities to stand you up, bro. Reality stood me up today and gave me a chin check, kept it moving. Didn't even speak reality.

Don't speak reality. Just stand you up and make it look right at yourself, bro. Makes you look internally. It makes me analyze.

That's what it did for me today. I know it was reality because I hadn't had these moments before. They don't all week back. I had moments where reality hit me so hard.

I was doing so good in life that I had to pull over on the side of the road and cry. Life had been doing so good. Life set reality to come to me at that moment I'm driving and it hit me so hard. How good I felt inside.

How happy I honestly was that I had to pull over to the shoulder of the road and get out and cry. Get out and cry. Cry on the steps. Not on the curve of 60th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Right at the edge of Central Park. And I remember these young ladies passing by. I'm like, this won't be all right, baby. She left you.

He was all right. You were here at some age when we put any more girls out there. That's how it was. They was supportive.

But that's what they thought. But I was crying tears of joy. Not because I lied on because I had hundreds of millions. But I was happy inside.

I thought it was a little different today when reality hit me and stood me up. Reality stood me up. Ain't no other feeling like it, bro. You know what I'm saying?

You just got to embrace it. Just got to embrace it. Because reality ain't talking. Reality just coming to do its jobs.

Sometimes it comes swinging. And sometimes it just comes to just... You know what I'm saying? You're doing some bad and they just show up and just look at you.

Just look at you. That's what life did to me today. Reality did that to me today. Just stood right in front of me and just looked at me.

Just looked at me. Reality stepped to me. Life sent me out and reality worked for... It's reality.

It's life hit man. Reality is life's hit man. When he comes to come and do his job and he caught me. BAM!

He can't run from reality. Just one thing you can't run from is reality. Hmm. Hmm.

Anyway, my name is Tommy Israel. This is the Daily Bag podcast where I just come with my audio journal. I can't trip you. You know I'm at it tonight.
