In a statement delivered by his White House Counsel Dana Remus, President Biden said, "Congress is examining an assault on our Constitution and democratic institutions provoked and fanned by those sworn to protect them," in other words, by Donald Trump. In rejecting Trumps' executive privilege request, President Biden conveyed that Trump's conduct "reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the Constitution itself."
