REBALANCING INNOCENCE WITH ACTIVE PROSECUTION

from Coalition Purple Hosted by Coalition Purple

Between social media “trials” and activist lawyers and prosecutors, many have lost faith in the criminal justice system. Some feel criminals are getting off way too easy. Others believe too many innocent people are being judged guilty before they ever reach a courtroom. Hey, here’s a third political party position that neither Dems or GOP care much about. Return to the Constitutional idea that everybody is deemed innocent until proven guilty. A party agrees NOT to feed the hype and frenzy around criminal justice in a naked effort to make political gains against one’s opponents. Additionally, a third party should insist prosecutors focus on their job description to pursue justice for victims… and stay out of the conversation about defendants’ rights. There are lots of amazing organizations and lawyers working on the defense side. No doubt the uneasiness many feel also has to do with the social media kvetching that often condemn defendants OR victims before any rational court proceeding starts. This is where all of us Independently minded folks need to simply seek information rather than trying to determine an outcome before an legal case actually concludes! John and Bill also admit their ignorance when it comes to electing local judges but commit to doing better, wonder who is ensuring the unbiased, transparent information about judges and prosecutors, and question what’s happened that so many court decisions are criticized these days?
