Barton, Helen and Charles Lockett Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee, and author of Rebooting Justice: More Technology, Fewer Lawyers, and the Future of Law discussed what he sees are longstanding problems in our judicial system. He said that laws are too complex and legal advice is far more expensive than necessary. He outlined a series of reforms which he believes would make the courts much fairer and more accessible for poor and middle-class Americans.
