For 16 years, the South Street Journal Newspaper of Chicago has continued to break the news and influence the agenda in Chicago to cover the city’s streets, neighborhoods and institutions beyond the news to advocacy in the stories addressed. Its publisher and editor Ron Carter with 41 years of community organizing background and roots, and now the Chairman of Black Wall Street – Chicago, has laid the foundation to be a member of the City Council as the 17th Ward Alderman. As a youth was raised in CHA Robert Taylor Homes, moving on to an associate of the Black Panther Party, to this day he has been a principle organizer in many social and political directions.
