This week's show notes cover critical administrative closures, important financial relief opportunities, and the main event: the essential Community Conversation about the future of the Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS) infrastructure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feature Topic: LTPS Reconfiguration DialogueLawrence families are strongly encouraged to attend the community discussion regarding the future of the school district.• Reconfiguration Community Conversation    ◦ Date: Wednesday, October 15th.    ◦ Time: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Doors open at 6:45 p.m.).    ◦ Location: Lawrence Middle School (LMS) Auditorium.    ◦ Focus: This forum will discuss the planned timeline for projects approved in last spring's referendum, district reconfiguration, and LTPS buildings. Residents can meet the architects and ask questions.    ◦ Note: Childcare and refreshments will be provided.• Other School Events    ◦ LHS Homecoming Game and Dance: Saturday, October 11th. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Administrative Closures and Important Deadlines• Municipal Offices Closed: All Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday, October 13th, in observance of Columbus Day.• School Closed: Lawrence Township schools will have No school for students on Monday, October 13th, for a Staff Professional Development Day.    ◦ Note: Recycling and Trash will be collected on October 13th.• Halloween House Decorating Contest Registration: Registration for the Lawrence Recreation Halloween House Decorating Contest closes at 12 noon on October 16th. Winners will be announced on October 31st. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Community Events and Resources (Arts, Clinics, & Business)• Fall Arts Fest    ◦ Date: Saturday, October 11th, 12 pm - 4 pm.    ◦ Description: A street fair hosted by Lawrenceville Main Street featuring over 150 artists, crafters, and vendors, along with live musical and community acts.• Free Rabies Clinic    ◦ Date: Saturday, October 11th.    ◦ Time: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm.    ◦ Location: Lawrence Municipal Building (South side parking lot).• Property Tax Relief Program Filing Event    ◦ Date: Sunday, October 12th.    ◦ Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.    ◦ Location: Lawrence Library (2751 Brunswick Pike).    ◦ Purpose: The Division of Taxation is hosting this event to help residents apply for property tax and renter relief programs.• Small Business Networking Event    ◦ Date: Wednesday, October 15th.    ◦ Time: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.    ◦ Location: Lawrence Senior Center. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ongoing Financial & Licensing Reminders• Sewer Bill Due Date: Sewer bills must be received by the Tax Collector's office by October 27th to avoid penalty.• Cat Licensing: The 2025 - 2026 cat licensing period is underway. Late fees for licenses start November 1st. All cats 7+ months old must be licensed by law.• Leaf Collection: Lawrence Township Public Works Department will begin leaf collection on November 3rd.
