How can you prepare for the holidays and set intentions? How do you respond to rude relatives? How can you continue to feel grounded and grateful? How can you keep on track with your mindset and with your goals?   BEFORE Holiday Season Events: Set Intentions - It's easy to get wrapped into what other people want or are doing - Take a step out of the pressure and set intentions - What do you want to get out of this meeting? A good example: Be present in this moment.  - Set intentions in a space you feel grounded. Think about the "why" - Create affirmation with your intentions in mind   DURING the Event: How do you respond to rude relatives and set family boundaries? - Ask: "What does my highest self need to thrive?"  - Think about and set your boundaries when it comes to food, connection, conversation, and traveling  - "Practice saying 'no' without guilt and 'yes' with confidence" - Notice when you are building walls instead of upholding boundaries - Boundaries help you communicate and connect when, and where, you are capable   - It's OK to limit time with people who are draining   How to respond to these comments: "It looks like you gained some weight." Respond with: "Looks like you lost your manners!" Or "I'm sorry, is there a reason you brought this up? I don't believe my size concerns you, we can talk about something else though" - A lot of people who say comments aren't used to getting a clap back. You're worthy of giving a response and stopping the cycle.  "Are you sure you want seconds?" Respond with: "Did I ask for your opinion?" or "Why are you so concerned about my plate? Let's talk about something a little more meaningful" - There will be an awkward silence. Remind yourself of your affirmations. - The moment of awkwardness will be worth it in the long run "Why are you still single?" - A lot of people will comment on your status.  - People will make you feel behind all the time - "Quit trying to check all these boxes to please other people because you will find yourself living someone else's life" "When are you gonna have kids?" - You can educate them on why it's not OK to ask that question - Say you don't want kids  Comments about what you're wearing: - Wear whatever you want - Bend and snap and walk out of there - People are projecting their own insecurities - Show love back and don't get angry. It's not worth it to not get angry What do you do if your family ignores your boundaries? - Remind + Release  - Remind them why you set a boundary  - Release attachment to their response  After the holidays, remember self love - If you're feeling guilty, release that guilt of perfection - Celebrate that progress. Come back to gratitude, celebrate the small wins and the progress within yourself.  - "Don't focus on the things that maybe didn't go perfectly. Focus on the progress and the growth that you had within yourself because that stuff matters and it's how we continue to grow." Next week: Serving slices of self care and how to do that during a busy or stressful season of your life
