Red Angus Breeder Cody Berg

from Cattleman’s Corner Radio · host Hale Broadcasting

Now here's a Red Angus breeder from North Dakota, Cody Berg. How did you get started in the livestock business, Cody? I guess I was kind of born into it. My wife and I are the sixth generation. We farm and ranch alongside my parents and then I got a younger sister who farms and ranches with us as well. So we're a family operation here in northwest North Dakota and back in 2012 my dad purchased our first registered but Angus females and we sold our first handful of private treaty bulls in 2014 and hosted our first official private treaty bull sale in 2016 and just last year we switched to an online auction platform. If you're going all online are you going to still have the bulls there? So our sale will open up at 8 a.m. 16th of February and it's going to run to 8 p.m. on the 18th and I guess for those that aren't familiar with how an online auction works all lots will close at the same time at 8 p.m. central time on the 18th and any bids that are placed within five minutes of closing time the auction will be extended one other five minutes. We still welcome anybody out to the place for viewing of the animals and we actually offer a boots on the ground credit a hundred dollar credit to anybody who views cattle before a sale day and so we'll be offering 30 yearly and red Angus bulls and 40 commercial red Angus replacement heifers that are from the heart of our commercial herd and our commercial herd has been closed for several years bred by bulls that we've raised here on our ranch. Cody Berg, Lazy D Red Angus of North Dakota. We'll have an easy link to that sale on Cattleman's Corner under Featured Sales.
