RED SOX POSTCAST: Red Sox Fail to Sweep & Fall Again on Crochet Day

The Red Sox (25-26) fell 5-1 to the New York Mets Wednesday night in front of 31,661 fans at Fenway Park and were unable to complete their 2nd series sweep of the season. Liam Hendriks was charged with all 3 runs in the 7th Inning and was tagged with the loss.  The Sox are 3-3 on their current 10-game homestand and back to 1 game below .500 thru their 1st 51 Games.             -----Crochet Day- Garrett Crochet made the start in the series finale and ended up with a no-decision.  With the loss to the Mets, the Red Sox are now 6-5 in Crochet's 1st 11 starts of the season.  Crochet went 5.1 Innings and was lifted by Alex Cora after throwing 85 total pitches. Crochet gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits.  He walked 1 and struck out 5, including Juan Sox 3 times.  Crochet is now 0-3 with 3 no-decisions in 6 Home Starts at Fenway.  -----#'s of the Day: The Red Sox collected 6 hits in the loss and have 6 hits or less for the 15th time this season. The Red Sox struck out a season-high 16 times in the loss to the Mets and are now 7-19 when they strike out 10 or more times in a game.  Kristian Campbell went (1-for-3 with a walk and 2 strikeouts) and is (5-for-53) with 3 RBIs in 13 games during the month of May.  Trevor Story went 0-for-4 with 2 strikeouts and has just 1 extra-base hit and 7 RBIs over his last 27 games.  -----What's On Tap?: The Red Sox begin a 4-game series with the Orioles on Thursday.  Baltimore parted ways with manager Brandon Hyde over the weekend.    Baltimore ended an 8-game losing streak with an extra-inning win over the Brewers on Thursday.
