The Detroit Red Wings vs Colorado Avalanche game March 26, 1997 was a seminole moment for Darren McCarty, the Red Wings and the entire world of hockey. It was a night of sweet revenge for the heinous injury inflicted on Kris Draper by Claude Lemieux the previous season.

The game featured a total of 8 fights including the famous beatdown that #25 administered to the cowardly, turtling Lemieux. Mac then went on to score the game winning goal in overtime.
