You see, the Cross isn’t just a down-payment for the forgiveness of your sins, and now you’re supposed to be making payments for the rest of your life. The Cross didn’t just transfer you from being a slave of sin to being a slave of God. Jesus’ death on the Cross was a “full and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.” Your debt has been paid off, and you are no longer a slave. You have been restored to the position of a child of God. You have been fully and totally redeemed.
