Redefine Success

Morning Mantra: “Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and create a life you are happy to live.”

Maybe it’s time to redefine success.  Too often we let society, our boss, our parents, or other people we know tell us what they think it means. We grab onto the ridiculous notion that you must have a certain amount of money, a certain car, and look a certain way. Then we nearly kill ourselves trying to achieve it- all the while skipping over what is really important in life.

What if your markers of success were how well you slept at night? How many books you read? How easily you laughed? How much time you spent sharing stories with kids? Or feeling the warm arms of people you adore?

I define success as being completely comfortable with myself and living my life with integrity and not give in to peer pressure to be something I'm not.  

Being happy with what you have right now, and to be able to appreciate the small things is a wonderful definition of success. Let your definition of success be yours.
