Redefining Dementia Care and Cognitive Wellness | Betty and Kristin Kemper, Ep. 32

from BrainHeal(th)

Today's guests didn't just build a business; they answered a personal calling. I'm honored to welcome mother-daughter duo Betty and Kristin Kemper, founders of Kemper House residential memory care communities and Kemper Cognitive Wellness, a clinic devoted to personalized medicine for better brain health. Together they are redefining how we care for people who may be going down the path toward cognitive decline or already living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Their journey began decades ago in long-term care and then became deeply personal when Alzheimer's touched their own family, first with Betty's mother-in-law (Kristin's grandmother) and later her husband (Kristin's father). Refusing to accept the idea that nothing could be done, Betty and Kristin set out to challenge the status quo by combining compassionate care with innovation, research, and hope. From opening their first Kemper House in 1999 to launching Kemper Cognitive Wellness and developing successful cognitive training programs such as BrainFit®, their work has transformed lives across Northeast Ohio and beyond. They are true pioneers in dementia care, and I'm grateful to have them with us today.
