REDNECKS on the ROOF

from Reality Church Vancouver // Spirit+Truth ~ Community+Compassion ~ Renewal+Rest ~ realityvancouver.com · host Lance Odegard

Date: 30.08.09 Speaker: Lance Odegard Texts: Luke 5:17-26, 7:1-17 Title: REDNECKS on the ROOF When four rednecks, rough around the edges, unorthodox and inventive, brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus, it was their faith that so impressed Jesus that upon seeing it, He forgave the man on the mat his sins. Then to show that not only could the Christ forgive sins, but do more than we could ever ask or imagine, Jesus goes and heals the man as well, commanding take up your mat and go. This and two other stories of faith in Jesus authority are brought under Lances scrutiny as he breaks it down for us, explaining how Gospel is freedom. When our creator God says Do not fear, He is creating courage in us, because every time God speaks, He creates. Jesus continues to amaze us as he is constantly interrupted and responds with compassion. Take some time to look at Jesus, and consider how His life may be interrupting yours.
