Reds' Pitchers Struggle With Two Strikes | Cincinnati Reds News

The Reds’ pitching staff is in freefall this season, with injuries to stars like Hunter Greene and Nick Lodolo crippling what was once a strength. While Chase Burns has stepped up heroically, the real problem lies in their devastating collapse with two strikes—ranked dead last in strikeouts and worst in exit velocity when hitters are down 0-2. Opponents are crushing pitches, posting elite OPS and contact rates, turning a once-reliable bullpen into a liability. Without fixing this critical flaw, Cincinnati’s future looks bleak.
