Referendum on Box Elder County data facility won't be on November ballot

The application to get a referendum on the ballot in Box Elder County -- over the proposed data center -- has been rejected and will not be on the ballot in November. But the process to stop the data center isn't over yet; the group leading the charge against the proposal says it will take the issue to court. The county attorney denied the referendum application, saying the county commission's decision was administrative, not legislative. But the group disagrees with that analysis, saying a 2018 Utah Supreme Court decision proves it is legislative, so the people should get to have a say in it.
