Reflection - The Darkness
from Trinity Community Church Hosted by Scott Wiens
In 'The Darkness,' the first sermon of the 'Reflection' Christmas series, Pastor Scott Wiens confronts the grim reality of a world without Jesus. This powerful message highlights the significance of the incarnation as the single greatest event in human history. Scott explores the teachings of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Mark to reveal the deep-seated sin within the human heart and its repercussions. He paints a vivid picture of a life drowned in sin, emphasizing how our transgressions build walls between us and God. Through this, we gain a stark understanding of our desperate need for redemption. The sermon also sheds light on the concept of God's common grace—blessings we experience in this world that point to His enduring goodness. Scott's discussion encompasses the necessity of repentance and redemption as we navigate the path from darkness towards God's light. As we celebrate Christmas, this sermon serves as a profound reflection on Jesus' birth and its transformative impact on humanity. It's a call to embrace the light of Christ, breaking free from the darkness of sin and stepping into a renewed relationship with God. We are Trinity Community Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
