Reflections on 911, 20 Yrs Later and Scorn In America Beginning With The 2016 Trump Presidency Hopeful

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 I was working the overnight shift at The Home Depot in Bend, Oregon. I left at 7am Pacific Time (10 AM Atlantic Time) and instead of going straight home, I went to my church because I knew my pastor was there and I had been wanting to discuss with him possibly scheduling a guest speaker I had seen in San Diego on my vacation the prior month. At the time, none of us in the building even had a clue what was going on yet, and I had left and got home roughly at 8am. Instead of going to bed as usual after working the night shift, I decided to turn on the tube. And that is when I began to see all what transpired. I immediately remembered a dream from the past Saturday, in which I saw a very similar thing, except for some reason I was in Saudi Arabia in a 5-star hotel and I had turned on the TV and immediately saw the worst things happening in the US since Pearl Harbor, on an English news channel in that Saudi Arabian hotel television. As I was now watching the news after arriving home and recalling my dream from 3 days prior, a Biblical verse came to mind, which is appropriate then, and appropriate now, 20 years after 9-11-01: 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; ... Then I called my Mom and spoke and prayed with her for about an hour. Some time later, I was going through my things and discovered I had saved a ticket stub from 1993 when I had visited New York, and a friend and I had gone into one of the WTC buildings to the top, which actually required a ticket. Only one of the two towers offered a tour from the top but I don't recall which one, but everything about that day is a real mystery to me.
