Her teaching and research focused on gendered language, women in management, sexual harassment, and workplace diversity. She has authored or co-authored 5 books and 50 articles, was a founder of the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language and Gender (now in its 45th year), co-led a Women's Leadership Program, and consulted with over 60 corporations and non-profit associations.
