Refuge and Putting Down Burdens

from Ajahn Anan Podcast · host Ajahn Anan Akiñcano

2021.03.20 | We may think carrying a heavy block of gold will bring us happiness, but all we get is suffering, and there is no end to it. We all want lightness but pick up heaviness continuously. We carry burdens up until old age, sickness, and death, and then keep carrying it to the next birth as well. Seeing clearly the heavy object for what it is, we can realize lightness. To help realize this freedom, we go for refuge in the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha. To join Ajahn Anan and the Wat Marp Jan Community online for daily chanting, meditation, and a Dhamma talk, you can email [email protected] for the link. Daily live sessions at 7pm - 9pm, Indochina Time (Bangkok, GMT+7).
