Episode 124 is in conversation with founder and Director of Refuweegee Selina Hales, who in 2015 decided to spread some kindness to forcibly displaced people arriving in her beloved city of Glasgow. Providing over 5000 welcome packs to date, Refuweegee gained charitable status in September 2016 and have extended their incredible work through a variety of projects and initiatives in connection with partner organisations, schools and community groups to provide food, clothing and a wealth of support. With an army of volunteers and dedicated staff, Refuweegee is reactive to the situation, always ready to lend support and call on the people of Glasgow to step up and help those in need. Selina recounts the journey of Refuweegee thus far and why, despite the difficulties and injustices she is witness to on a daily basis, she is ever-positive and loves the people of Glasgow.
