De één is up and coming, de ander behoort al jaren tot de wereldtop. Maarten ter Hofte debuteerde vorig jaar met een wildcard en zal in zijn tweede jaar in Ahoy weer een volgende stap willen zetten. Gordon Reid, die hier in Rotterdam twaalf keer in de finale stond en zeker niet onbelangrijk het enkel- en dubbelspel samen maar liefst acht keer wist te winnen, hoopt na een snelle exit vorig jaar weer oude tijden te doen herleven. Maarten ter Hofte made his debut last year with a wildcard and will be looking to take the next step in his second year at Ahoy. Gordon Reid, who has reached the finals here in Rotterdam twelve times and, more importantly, won the singles and doubles events a combined eight times, hopes to relive his old ways after a quick exit last year.
