Then a deafening earthquake felled forests and split the land in two but the Lord was not in the earthquake. Then a fire roared, consuming everything it touched in a blaze of brilliant light but the lord was not in the fire. But after the wind, the earthquake, and the fire, there was a voice. And it was still and it was small and it was mighty and it was truth. And it was the voice that made this world in six days, that sang rays of light into being with four words. One breath of perfected power established gravity just to show all of time that none can defy it, or like lightning they’d fall in thunderous clamor. And it was the voice of a friend, full of confidence and love, that called you by your name in your weakness, and redeemed you in your strength. And It’s the voice of the one who set the captives free, who put a comma at the end of your sentence, where your story should have ended and said “there’s more!” It calls forth greatness from this tomb of empty echoes. And from lifeless lips it gathers praise. It's the sound of moved mountains! It's the sound the earth makes when the righteous prevail! And it's the voice after the fire! It's the voice of a the King, robed in glorious majesty. And it sounds like you.
