Reiki evolution tradition versus standardization
from Rod Talks Hosted by Rod Lyman
Here is the summary of the meeting "Reiki_evolution_tradition_versus_standardization": The meeting featured a debate on the evolution of Reiki, particularly the transition from Dr. Mikao Usui's original teachings to formalized and standardized systems in the West. Speaker 1 argued that the evolution and standardization—such as systems introduced by Mrs. Hawayo Takata and Terra Mai—were necessary to preserve, propagate, and maintain the quality and global reach of Reiki, despite some commercial aspects. Speaker 2 was concerned that these developments, especially trademarking and registration requirements, diluted the spiritual purity and accessibility of Usui's original system, and that proprietary Western systems diverged from Reiki's spirit as a universally accessible gift.
