Rejecting and Receiving

This sermon explores James 1:21, emphasizing that the command to reject sin and embrace God's Word is grounded in the believer's regeneration by grace. The speaker argues that obedience is only possible for those who have been transformed by the Holy Spirit, distinguishing true Christianity from works righteousness. The message instructs believers to actively starve their old nature by rejecting moral filth and rampant wickedness, which naturally spread and destroy if unchecked. Conversely, the new nature must be fed by receiving the implanted Word of God with meekness and humility. This process of replacing sinful desires with Scripture shapes the believer's character and worldview, leading to a life that reflects Christ's glory rather than the world's allure.
