Be honest: When someone you know is blessed, do you feel joy? Or is your first emotion jealousy? A joyful person is quick to rejoice not only when he or she succeeds or experiencessomething wonderful, but when others do too. The joyful person understands the phrase It's not all about me. He doesn't feel slighted when his colleague receives the salesperson of the year award. She doesn't pout when her sister gets an acceptance letter college. There's no need for a Christian to act like a spoiled child who demands the biggest piece of cake because there's only so much to go around. God will never run out of blessings, and His love is infinite. The word rejoice sounds like joy for a reason. You simply can't rejoice without feeling joy. Sometimes we forget that one of the greatest benefits of rejoicing with those who rejoice is that when we do, our joy is multiplied. Let's learn to respond with kindness and enthusiasm every time God blesses one of His children.
