Relationship RULES that KEEP US In Toxic Cycles

from The Great Unlearning Project

As we dive deeper into our relationship series, we discuss the old relationship rules that we are still attached to that keep us stuck in toxic cycles. It is incredibly important and humbling, to have self awareness enough to notice recurring themes or patterns that are going through relationships. When you look back, you may see that it also includes your earliest relationships and even as far back as your parent's relationship. We get to unlearn, over time, the belief that a specific person has to follow a rule, but instead figure out where that belief came from and put a positive charge on the trigger to change our response. Once we flip the switch, we can invite in expanders, or people around you who model what I'm struggling with, and if it's possible there are people around, then it is possible for you too. Things We Love ➡️We all need to take radical ownership that we are the common denominator of the relationship and situations. ➡️Challenge yourself to really look around you for great relationships, invite yourself into that situation and feel what it would be like to have that too. ➡️You're not looking for the "perfect" relationship, you're looking for pieces of relationships of what you believe is the ideal relationship.
