Relationships That Last!
from Emmanuel Afiawari's Inspiration podcast · host Emmanuel Afiawari
INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Monday, April 13, 2026 Topic: RELATIONSHIPS THAT LAST. Memory Verse: "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets" - Matthew 7:12 NIV Bible Text: Philippians 2:3-4 NIV 3. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4. Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. INSPIRATION: The biggest irony of life today is that we've different yardsticks of measuring how we treat people and how we expect to be treated. This is the root cause of most strife in relationships. Seeing and promoting the greater good in others will enrich your life as well as theirs more than finding fault and rubbing it in would ever do. You're a human being, not a monitoring spirit. Stop turning yourself into the latter, you're not a witch or wizard! Insensitivity about the feelings of others abort great and lofty dreams that could have been nurtured into great relationships even before they're birthed. Many have 'murdered' budding partnerships and wondered why they keep moving in circles. Mudslinging, distortion of facts, gossips, talebearing, etc, just to create a false air of superiority over others are some of the ways we've murdered relationships. Can you see yourself in this mirror? TODAY'S TAKE HOME: The golden rule, "Do to others what you want them do unto you," has not changed. Have it at the back of mind every time. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me to see the bigger picture in the people and connections you bring me into. Teach me to nurture relationships, build bridges, to value people and to preserve their mental wellness. May I not be the reason others would stumble and fall, in Jesus name.
