Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4. Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. INSPIRATION: Relationships that last are those that are built on mutually respected boundaries. It doesn't expect everyone to be treated the same way but explores the uniqueness of individuals to know when and how to speak to the king/queen or the child in them. It is one that is explorative for the good of the other, rather than being exploitative. It esteems the other person better than one's self! Put others in your shoes before you carry out any action towards them. If you won't feel cool if another does it to you, refrain from doing it to others (Matt. 7: 12). Relationships that last doesn't project self interests into others and subtly disguise it as love. That's manipulation. Measure your value-rating of others objectively in your actions towards them (Phi. 2:3). If you've the right values for and about them, you'd look for their interests and not yours (Phi. 2:4)! TODAY'S TAKE HOME: ‭‭Selfish ambition projected as love/control will shipwreck a relationship. Know and respect boundaries for healthy balance. PRAYER: Dear Lord, please I need grace to build lasting relationships; the type that puts the needs and feelings of others above mine. Empower me to live like Christ; clothe in humility, esteeming others and looking for their best interests before mine, in Jesus name.
