And it changes everything that follows.The Greek word for submit here is hypotassō — to voluntarily place yourself under another for their good. Not passivity. Not silence. Not a power imbalance dressed up in religious language. It's a posture of strength, rooted in knowing you've already been radically loved and served by Jesus, who submitted himself for us first.And the call isn't just to wives. Paul calls husbands to love their wives the way Christ loved the church — a love that gave everything, held nothing back, and laid down its life. That's not a soft ask.
