It’s the first part because it centers on the spiritual maturity and growth of the individual first. b. Then next week we will finish it up with how that maturity and growth ought to play out with those around us. I. 4 Signs of Spiritual Immaturity vs 5:11-14 a. You Don’t Listen i. Numbed to the Word of God b. You Are Forgetful i. Sign of Selfishness c. You Are Unskilled i. You’re not a student of God’s Word d. You Are Undiscerning i. Easily susceptible to deception II. Strive for Growth vs 6:1-3 a. Grow from the Elementary Doctrine b. Rhythm of Relationship i. First spiritual immaturity is a warning sign of apostasy 1. “It’s always amazed me how people spend their lives not having time for God, being too busy for Him — but hoping to go to heaven for all eternity, and be with the God for whom they had no time for. NEWSFLASH: When you die, you will continue your same relationship with God!” 2. Partial Obedience is still Disobedience ii. Without Maturity how can you spur one another on towards anything that is Christ-like.
