Relentless Love | A God Who Is Who He Is

In chapter four the prophet’s anger reveals the hidden “worker hired first” or the "elder brother" in all of us who resents God’s grace when it is shown to the “worker hired last” or the "younger brother." This chapter explores the tension between our small-minded sense of justice and God’s "Relentless Love" for all, including those we consider our enemies. We are faced with the realization that we often want a God made in our own image—one who rejects the same people we do—rather than the God who is who he is: "I Am, gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love."
