What happened? Digging Into the Passage 1. Read Jonah 2 aloud together. What stands out to you after hearing the sermon that you may never have noticed before? 2. Jonah repeatedly thanks God for rescuing him, yet never explicitly confesses his rebellion. Why do you think that omission is significant?3. Compare Jonah's prayer with Psalm 51 or Psalm 32. What differences do you notice between David's prayers and Jonah's? 4. The sermon suggested that Jonah stopped running because he couldn't run anymore—not because his heart had fully changed. Have you ever obeyed God before your heart completely caught up? What did that experience teach you? Applying the Message 5.
