And maybe, at times, it's us.DISCUSSION QUESTIONSIcebreaker 1. Have you ever been given a second chance that changed the direction of your life? What happened? Digging into the Passage 2. Jonah receives the exact same calling in chapter 3 that he received in chapter 1. What does that teach us about God's persistence and His purposes for our lives? 3. Why do you think the people of Nineveh responded so quickly while Jonah remained so resistant to God's grace? 4. One of the key ideas in the message was that "The Ninevites believed God," not simply Jonah. Why is that distinction important? Going Deeper 5. The Hebrew word hapak can mean either "to overthrow" or "to transform." How does that deepen your understanding of what God intended for Nineveh? 6. The sermon suggested that judgment is God's last resort, while redemption is His delight. Where else do you see that pattern in Scripture or in your own life? 7. Jonah experienced extraordinary grace but struggled to extend grace to others. Why is it often easier to receive God's forgiveness than to celebrate it in someone else's life? Personal Application 8. The sermon said: "We always believe more in the power of Nineveh than we do in the transforming power of God's grace." Where do you see that tendency in yourself or in today's culture? 9. Is there a person or group of people you find difficult to believe God could genuinely transform? What might that reveal about your own heart? 10. Near the end of the message we asked: "Will I allow Him to transform me?" What is one area of your life where God may be calling you to turn—to experience your own hapak? Prayer Spend time praying for three things:•  A heart that celebrates God's grace wherever it appears.•  The humility to recognize areas where prejudice, pride, or bitterness may still exist.•  Courage to say "yes" to whatever transformation God wants to accomplish in your own life.
