Religious Exemption Denial Forces Public School Teacher To Resign

Amanda Mullins was set to begin the 2025-26 school year in the system where she had taught science for 15 years. She had high hopes that Gov. Patrick Morrisey's Executive Order regarding Religious Exemptions for the vaccine mandate would be applied for her son who was about to enter the 7th grade at the school where she taught. However, the West Virginia BOE has continued to defy that order and state law and the Constitution. Without any recourse, Amanda abruptly resigned her public school teaching position and will be a homeschool teacher for her son.
