One area where you can get consensus from the Right & Left is the importance of religious liberty. Both cherish this ideal. The problem is that each wing defines it differently. I'm sure we wouldn't have to travel far to find people who believe that they can choose not to serve gay customers, yet also feel that they have a right to ban the construction of mosques in their town. .
