Relying On God's Comforrt

What is a biblical perspective on suffering and affliction? Why do bad things happen to "good" people? These are really challenging questions. It is commonplace for people to draw conclusions about God or even about themselves that lead away from hope when going through suffering. The truth is that God uses suffering and trouble to reveal who He is in us and through us and to comfort us in any circumstance. Our challenge is to consistently rely on Him in times of trouble rather than ourselves. When we rely on Him, we receive His comfort and are able to love and serve others by encouraging and comforting others in the midst of their trials and troubles as well.1 Corinthians 1:1-11
