May 23, 2023Remember & Honor2Samuel 1.17-19 and Romans 13.72Sa 1:17-19 AMP Then David sang this dirge (funeral song) over Saul and his son Jonathan, (18) and he told them to teach the sons of Judah, the song of the bow. Behold, it is written in the Book of Jashar: (19) "Your glory and splendor, O Israel, is slain upon your high places! How the mighty have fallen!David remembered and honored these fallen soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Even though Saul was after David personally, David recognized Saul still loved his country and made the ultimate sacrifice. He wanted his people to commemorate these soldiers.Let us follow suit. On this Memorial Day weekend let us:I. Remember and honor fallen soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty. II. Remember and honor first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty. III. Remember and honor Jesus who gave His life in the line of duty. This Memorial Day weekend, remember and honor the fallen soldiers. Remember and honor the first responders who are no longer with us. But please, most of all, remember and honor Jesus the Christ who defeated death so you and I may live.The best way to remember and honor Jesus is to accept Him as your LORD and Savior today if you have yet to do so. If He already is your LORD and Savior, honor Him by being His ambassador.David honored the fallen soldiers. But he honored the LORD even more. Let us do likewise because all honor is always due to Jesus! Amen.
