Remember Lot's Wife

Why does Jesus want His followers to remember Lot's wife? This is the question Kimberly and I dig into in this episode. Luke 17:20-37 is our main Bible text.  Every generation asks, "Is this the end of the world?" John Eldredge put it this way in Resilient. "Honestly, I think many people would trade the return of Jesus Christ himself for a nice little end to their story and let another generation live through the end of the age." Ouch! This hits a little too close to home. Are we spending more time trying to save our lives instead of losing it for the Kingdom of God? We reference the times Noah lived in and what it was like in Sodom where Lot had chosen to live.  God gives us warnings and promptings to help us turn around when we've started down the wrong road. Following Jesus is a narrow road. The broad path that the majority of people are going down is a road that will end in sudden destruction.  When you're facing the temptation to love the present world more than longing for the Kingodm of God, Remember Lot's wife.
