Called to be passionate, ready, and to respond to a hostile world with gentleness, when the temptation is to fight back. We have many things competing for our passions, especially as we pursue bios. I have a story about a fight Lisa & I’ve been in on behalf of GLFP, NLC, the very heart & soul of America. A culture war about justice, equality, & the future of our children… the fight over parking spaces. Neighbors persecuted us as we are doing good with the food pantry & GLR, some of our people parking in their spaces. This was a righteous fight, because they in fact are parking lot hypocrites with customers & owners using our spaces! I was determined to force biblical parking lot values upon the, fight passionately to change parking lot society. You all would have been so proud of us as a zealous advocates for parking lot social justice, and our parking rights! Until 5 weeks ago… when I realized, even though I have a point, my passion was misguided. I had failed my priesthood. My passion for parking lot justice left me unprepared to seize an opportunity to pursue peace instead of fight for Bios. Has this ever happened to you? So passionate about something you’re legit right about, you chose conflict over peace?
