Remembering is an act of faith that reminds us--not to take us back into the past, but rather to prepare us for the future. Faith's greatest encouragement is remembering. And so, as Hebrews 2:1 admonishes us, "we must pay closer attention to what we've heard [from God], lest we drift away from it." Remembering can help anchor us to the word, will, and ways of God.
